Tyler Roberts was forced to wait for his chance at Leeds United.
The 19-year-old striker moved to Elland Road from West Bromwich Albion in January for a hefty £4 million. But, thanks to injury and the form of those ahead of him, Roberts was forced to wait eight months to make his league debut for the West Yorkshire giants.
Recent injuries to Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford have handed Roberts a chance; one that he has seized with both hands. After a shaky start, the Welsh international has really impressed in his run in the starting XI, scoring two clinical goals against Preston North End and firing home a long-range winner away at Hull City.
With Roofe set to return after the international break, and Bamford likely to come back in the New Year after a cruciate ligament injury, Roberts’ stand-out displays surely mean another striker is not a necessity in January.
This, therefore, could be bad news for Mbaye Diagne’s hopes of a move to England
