Latest on Mo Besic

Marco Silva has confirmed an issue between Middlesbrough and Mo Besic’s agent was the reason for the last minute collapse of the midfielder’s Riverside return.

Boro and Everton had agreed a fee for Besic, with the club also understood to have settled on personal terms with the Bosnian.

However, as Silva put it, “something happened between the club and the agent”, causing an 11th hour break-down.

Boro are now hopeful of signing Besic on loan, which wasn’t ruled out by the Everton boss.

“We will see what happens in the future,” he told the Liverpool ECHO in his press conference today.

“When something happens we will let you know. At the moment they are our players. Tomorrow we stop talking about the players.

“With Besic something happened between the club and the agent, I don’t know what happened. Everything was agreed between the clubs.”

Tony Pulis this morning described Besic as a “fantastic kid with a great attitude”, saying he’d “love to have him back” at Boro this season.

The Welshman is hopeful the 25-year-old will still return to Boro, despite Thursday’s complications, and also wants to use the loan market to strengthen in other areas of the pitch.
