West Ham United and Leeds were both linked with Amiens’ Ligue 1 forward Moussa Konate but he didnt move to the Premier League or the Championship

Few had expected that Moussa Konate would end the transfer window still at Amiens.

The Senegal forward had attracted plenty of interest from across The Channel after scoring 13 goals in Ligue 1 last season but remains in France with clubs in England now unable to sign players on a permanent basis.

And according to The Standard, it doesn’t seem that Konate is too happy with the fact he is still with Amiens or, as they are known by some, The Unicorns. It is claimed that Konate was hoping that Leeds United or West Ham would make a move for him and is disappointed that a potential move to England seems to have passed him by.

The Mirror (August 8, page 51) had claimed prior to the window’s closure that Marcelo Bielsa wanted a player capable of featuring either up front or on the wing with Leeds allegedly planning a £6 million move for Konate.
