Stoke City are reportedly keen on signing Derby County striker Matej Vydra, who has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United over recent weeks.
Although Leeds still hold some hope that they can complete a deal to sign the 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship top goal scorer, negotiations between the two seemed to stall after a disagreement over wages.
And Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post has claimed that Stoke are interested in securing his signature, and they would not have many worries about his wages.

Despite the Potters relegation from the Premier League, parachute payments would allow them to afford Vydra’s wages rather comfortably.
Competition for Vydra is not what Leeds United want, and the appeal of Stoke City could be considered greater than that of the Yorkshire club.
Stoke City are the bookies’ favourites to earn an immediate return to the top flight of English football, and it is easy to see why with some of the business they have done so far.
Appointing Gary Rowett as their new manager was a stroke of genius, and he is more than capable of helping them return to the Premier League, and with the goals of Matej Vydra, the odds are only going to drop.
Despite Stoke City’s interest, Phil Hay confirms that Leeds United have not fully given up on their pursuit of the Czech Republic striker, but it does not seem like they are anywhere near the driving seat right now.
Leeds United did however receive a bit of good news earlier, after it was confirmed that Abel Hernandez, who they have been linked with for a number of weeks, would like to remain in England.
