While Leeds United have a typically busy summer in hosting England games and world title fights, bringing in a new globally respected manager and the like, one crucial area has not been as busy as anyone would have hoped for.
With less than a month until the transfer window shuts for permanent deals, Leeds have only brought in one new face.
Last year’s 13th place finish in the Championship showed plenty of gaps in the Leeds squad and new head coach Marcelo Bielsa said in his introductory press conference that he wanted ‘four or five’ areas of his squad strengthening. So far, Lewis Baker from Chelsea is the only player to come in.
Bielsa also said that there are 15 players too many in his squad, with the club making better progress here, so far getting rid of eight players either on loan or on a permanent deal.
