In the summer of 2017, West Bromwich Albion signed Southampton man, Jay Rodriguez in a £12 million deal to give the striker a lifeline after his injury hell at Southampton. 

During the early part of his career at Southampton, Rodriguez had turned himself into a top quality player. Along with Adam Lallan and Rickie Lambert, Rodriguez was part of a Southampton side that had defied expectations and had become one of the best teams outside of the top five.

In his first two seasons in the Premier League, he scored 21 g0als for the club and was even called into the England side. Towards the end of his Southampton career, however, he came off injured against Man City which was later revealed as anterior cruciate ligament injury.

As a result of the injury, he missed out on the 2014 World Cup and the following league season. He never was the same player for Southampton and despite playing 24 games in his final season, he was sold to the Midlands side.
