Sheffield Wednesday‘s Chelsea loanee could replace one from Tottenham Hotspur against Sheffield United.

Jos Luhukay has handed Sheffield Wednesday a pre-derby boost, suggesting – in contrast to what he said a week ago – that Fernando Forestieri and Marco Matias could each play a part against Sheffield United.

Wednesday have lost their last four matches without the attacking pair, who were not expected to return until after November’s international break.

The Owls have found goals hard to come by throughout that time, and the prospect of starting one or both players is sure to tempt most managers, although it would require a drastic change of approach from the usually cautious Luhukay and a place on the bench is perhaps the most likely outcome.

Sheffield Wednesday’s main concern will be at the other end, however, with not a clean sheet kept all season and 12 goals shipped throughout their post-October break slump.

The Owls’ reigning player of the month, Michael Hector, should return after being inexplicably dropped against Norwich, with two of Tom Lees, Daniel Pudil, or Jordan Thorniley beside him after last week’s four-at-the-back experiment spectacularly failed.
