Wolverhampton Wanderers are ready to scrap with Besiktas in the bid to sign Benfica attacker Anderson Talisca this summer, according to reports in Turkey.

Turkish media outlet Fotomac is reporting that Wolves could revisit a move for Talisca this summer should Besiktas hesitate in signing the Brazilian on a permanent deal following a successful loan stint.

Wolves previously tried to snap up Talisca and were leading Liverpool in their pursuit before Besiktas swooped on a long term deal.

The Brazil under-23 international has impressed during his two year stint in Turkey, netting 32 times in all competitions, including seven strikes in the Champions League.

Besiktas are reportedly keen on signing Talisca permanently but his parent club Benfica are worried that they will try to pay his € 21m in six instalments.

This has alerted Wolves to his possible availability and they could swoop to add him to their attacking options ahead of their Premier League campaign.

The 24-year-old plays predominantly as a central attacking midfielder, although he can also operate on either wing or as a central striker.

Wolves are thought to be trailing behind Besiktas in pursuit of Talisca, as Besiktas have priority to make their deal permanent, but they remain in the hunt.

The Verdict

Talisca would be an excellent signing for Wolves because he provides goals and assists from the attacking midfield options. With attacking midfield options such as Diogo Jota, Helder Costa, Ivan Cavaleiro and Talisca, Wolves will surely be pushing for a top ten finish, rather than worrying about relegation. And in today’s market, €21m is a snip for a young, exciting talent with Champions League experience under his belt already.
