The Blues have stumbled lately, only winning one of their last four Premier League matches, which has left them 10 points behind leaders City and down in fourth place.

Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat at Wolves was the worst result of Maurizio Sarri’s reign so far, and with Arsenal only behind them on goal difference, the Italian will be desperate for a statement win over the champions.

The good news for Sarri is that he has an almost fully-fit squad, with out-of-favour Victor Moses the only doubt with a back problem.

He rotated at Molineux, bringing in Cesc Fabregas, Andreas Christensen, Willian and Alvaro Morata to the line-up and resting Jorginho, David Luiz, Pedro and Olivier Giroud.

All of those players are likely to return to the line-up, given how poorly their replacements did.

However, Ruben Loftus-Cheek will surely start after a man-of-the-match display in the game against Wolves, and he now has six goals in his last seven appearances – several of which have been from the bench.

With Mateo Kovacic unimpressive of late and Ross Barkley missing a couple of games with an ankle problem, the former Crystal Palace loanee appears Sarri’s best option on the left of the midfield three.

Sarri can afford to play his strongest team and fully focus on the game with City, before playing a second string XI in the dead rubber game against Vidi in the Europa League next Thursday.

Chelsea’s likely line-up (4-3-3): Arrizabalaga; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek; Pedro, Hazard,
