Liverpool have been offered hope that a deal for Nabil Fekir can still be reached with Lyon having entered talks to sign Hakim Ziyech as his replacement.
The Reds had a £53million deal in place to sign Fekir before the World Cup but a transfer collapsed over medical complications.
And according to the Mirror, Lyon have opened talks with Ajax for attacking midfielder Ziyech – who would come in as their new No 10 to take Fekir’s spot.
They say Fekir has spoken to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas and told him that he still wishes to move to Merseyside, having even spoken to Aulas face-to-face during the World Cup in Russia.
The Mirror claim that Ligue 1 outfit Lyon will look to re-open negotiations with Liverpool in order to facilitate Fekir’s apparent dream move.
It is said that Liverpool would be unwilling to return to the table if the deal remains the same as it was before.
Instead, they will look for a restructured deal in which the payments of Lyon captain Fekir’s fee – which could still amount to £53m in total – would be paid in instalments.

The Reds are on the hunt for a new No 1, with Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet’s Anfield futures up in the air.
