Wolves, on a poor streak that saw them gain one point from 18, had just come back from 1-0 down, to beat fourth-placed Chelsea 2-1, with goals coming from Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota.
The fans were elated, the streets of Wolverhampton were flooded with smiles, jovial comments and even laughter, something which had been rare to come by in previous months.
The fans were particularly delighted, with one saying: “I think it was a really great comeback.
“After the first half, we couldn’t expect that kind of comeback tonight, but Wolves never give up and tonight, for sure, they showed their strength… and also the strength in the pack.
“I think they all know now in London that there is a good team in Wolverhampton.”

Another said: “I thought it [the comeback] was brilliant, they fought really well – it was tremendous.
“The atmosphere was excellent, as always at the Molineux when the team are up against it, the crowd get right behind them.”
One fan ran out of superlatives: “[It was an] absolutely quality comeback. Quality build-up play, set-up was lovely, we had the best possession and I think we were the best team on the night.
“The atmosphere was absolutely outstanding. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere.”
