Jamie Carragher believes that Liverpool FC are missing a certain amount of creativity in midfield this season.

The Reds have been in fine form for most of the campaign and they booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals in style on Wednesday night thanks to an impressive 3-1 win over Bayern Munich away from home.

Liverpool FC are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they look to try and win the title for the first time under Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds’ front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have rightly been earning lots of praise for their fine form in recent months.

However, former Liverpool FC defender Carragher feels that the Reds are probably lacking some creativity behind their front three this season.

Speaking in an interview quoted by the Daily Express, Carragher said: “The big problem is not the front three,” Jamie Carragher said on Viasport.

“I think, to be fair to the front three, they don’t have the most creative midfield behind them.

“So when they score goals, a lot of it is between themselves. Individual play between the three of them, interplay.

“They’re not getting a lot of help from behind. Normally top teams have a midfield who score goals as well, so if the strikers are off form, a midfield player can win you the game.

“Liverpool don’t have that so they rely heavily on the front three.
