Liverpool may step up their transfer interest in Toulouse defender Jean Clair-Todibo after Joe Gomez is ruled out for six weeks with a leg injury.

Liverpool were dealt a cruel blow during the exciting 3-1 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor last night in the Premier League. Defender Joe Gomez left the pitch during the first half after crashing into the advertising hoardings.

Now it has been confirmed by the club that Gomez will miss six weeks with a lower leg fracture. He is fortunate it was not a little lower and a high ankle sprain. That is a blow to Jurgen Klopp who had been relishing the defensive partnership growing between Gomez and Virgil van Dijk.
