Hibernian have entered the race to sign Celtic defender Jack Hendry, according to the Sunday Express.

The report, as cited on 67 Hail Hail, claims that Neil Lennon wants to sign the out-of-favour defender as a replacement for Efe Ambrose.

The former Celtic man left Hibs recently after activating a termination clause that would see him leave the club this month.

Hendry is being tipped to leave the Hoops during the January window after finding game time hard to come by.

Despite impressing in patches following his move from Dundee, Hendry is currently out of favour at Celtic and the club are keen for the defender’s development to continue.

A host of clubs, including Sunderland, have previously been linked with a January move for Hendry, but it remains to be seen where he will be playing his football when the transfer window closes.

Hibs have also expressed an interest in Celtic midfielder Lewis Morgan, who is also likely to leave on loan in the near future.
