Celtic forward Leigh Griffiths has given his verdict on the Hoops’ 4-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win over Rangers, and he has taken a dig at the Ibrox club in the process.

Griffiths, who has been a mainstay of the Hoops side with 36 appearances so far this season, claims that Graeme Murty’s side will need to ‘go back to the drawing board’ following the Hoops’ emphatic victory.

“I don’t see how they can be happy after that. They’ll need to go back to the drawing board and figure out where they’ve gone wrong,” Griffiths said, as quoted by the Daily Record.

He then went on to hail his team-mates’ performance in the victory.

“When we bring our A game, then nobody in Scotland can touch us. You saw that on Sunday,” he added.

Griffiths and his team-mates can now turn their attention to clinching the league title, with the Hoops only needing one more win to make it seven in a row, which could come on Saturday against Hibernian at Easter Road.

Football Insider verdict

Hoops fans will love Griffiths’ comments, and even Rangers fans would struggle to disagree with anything that the 27-year-old has said. The Ibrox side do need to rip it up and start all over again after the semi-final loss, which has to go down as one of their most embarrassing in a long time. As for the Bhoys, they provided that when they are at their best there is nobody in Scottish football that can touch them, and Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that the attitude shown by the players in the performance at Hampden continues for the rest of the season as the Hoops aim to complete a second successive domestic treble.
