Derek Johnstone has told The Glasgow Evening Times that Rangers must enquire about signing Ryan Kent on a permanent basis.
The Liverpool loanee has been brilliant for Rangers this season, when fit.
Kent, who struggled on loan at Bristol City last season, played a blinder as the Gers beat Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox prior to the winter break – their first Old Firm win in 13 attempts.
Fans on the blue half of Glasgow would love to see Steven Gerrard sign up the 21-year-old – valuaed at only £2 million [Daily Record] – on a permanent basis.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has any plans for him, but Rangers legend Johnstone says that Gerrard must ‘ask the question’ at least.
He told The GET: “He would be a fantastic signing for Rangers going forward but it will come down to Liverpool and the player himself at the end of the day.
“All Rangers can do is ask the question and see where all parties stand on the matter
