Rangers director of football Mark Allen is going to have an extremely busy summer transfer window on his hands with it likely that there will be yet another overhaul of the playing squad at Ibrox.

The Light Blues were one of the most active British clubs in January as Allen tried to right the wrongs made by previous manager Pedro Caixinha and with another change of management due, the chances of another upheaval are beginning to look increasingly likely.

Jason Cummings’ loan deal probably won’t be made permanent while it will be interesting to see if Alfredo Morelos will attract bids of around £10million again.

Either way it will leave Rangers in need of at least one more striker, and they should really have a look at signing West Ham forward Jordan Hugill after he was reportedly made available to leave the London Stadium in the summer on loan or on a permanent basis.

The Sun has reported that Hugill, 25, is set for a quickfire exit from West Ham after he was signed from Preston for £9million in the January transfer window.

He has made just three Premier League appearances since ditching Deepdale for the capital, amounting to just 22 minutes’ worth of action from the bench.

The former Port Vale striker had been in good form for Preston before moving to the Hammers having scored 10 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions for the Championship club this season.

Hugill is a proven goal scorer in England’s second-tier and it’s plainly obvious that he is not of Premier League quality.

That means that Rangers should definitely make a move for him in the summer as he would be a clear improvement on someone like Cummings and they should be able to get him in on loan if Morelos stays, or permanently if the Colombian is sold to China.

In other Rangers news, the Gers will be waving goodbye to this fan favourite in the summer after Dave King dropped a huge hint.
